When we met with Kayla and Val to discuss their wedding day, we shared with them that while we LOVED their venue, and loved photographing weddings there, we felt the room typically used as the ceremony space did not result in the best ceremony photos unless there is a very small guest count. This is because the venue is typically set up with chairs stretching to each wall on the sides and to the back, leaving only the aisle for photography, which can limit the angles we can photograph. The ceremony space is also completely backlit with windows, something couples may not realize can impact photos. We shared with them that this space works best with a smaller guest count because that allows the option of leaving space behind the back row and on each side along the walls, which gives us the ability to move a bit and photograph from different angles. We also shared that we LOVE LOVE LOVE the reception space at Noah's, because it's so spacious and photographs very well.
These lovely ladies took our advice to heart, and decided to use the reception space for both their ceremony and reception. They also arranged their guest seating in a half-circle design with an aisle down the middle. Brilliant!! This gave us the option to move all around the perimeter of the room during their ceremony to photograph. We love the choice they made, and we've made this recommendation to every couple having a ceremony at Noah's since this day. We also love the Edison lighting they chose for both their ceremony and reception decor. So unique! The combination of Edison lights and candles lining the aisle gave the perfect low light vibe that they wanted for their ceremony, and when the reception started and uplighting was added, it became the perfect environment to dance the night away. During cocktail hour in between, guests were moved to the center hall and billiard rooms for appetizers and drinks while the space was converted for the reception. It worked perfectly.
You can see an example of their ceremony set up below, along with their elegantly dim ceremony lighting, as well as moments from their first dance and the party that followed at their reception.
